Musqle On Safety Checklist: Ask These Questions Before You Order

Musqle On single pack of 60 capsules

Last updated: · By the Musqle On Safety Check editorial team

This page is the safety-first part of our guide. It lists who should speak to a GP or pharmacist before ordering Musqle On, the cautions that go with the ingredients the seller lists, and the signs that mean you should stop and get advice.

  • Check with a GP or pharmacist if you take medicine, have a medical condition, or are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Zinc at 22 mg sits close to the 25 mg upper level for supplements, so avoid stacking products
  • Under 18? Not for you, and a supplement is not a way to look into tiredness, low mood or sexual difficulties

Safety in a paragraph

The zinc and niacin amounts are high enough that you should not add other products containing them, and the plant extracts can interact with some medicines. We cannot say how this particular combination behaves for you.

This is general information, not medical advice. If you are unsure, show a pharmacist the label, and stop taking the product if you feel unwell.

The check-first list

Speak to a GP or pharmacist before you order if any line below applies to you:

  • You are under 18. The product is not meant for children or teenagers.
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You take any medicine, prescribed or bought over the counter, particularly blood thinners, diabetes medicine, or tablets for blood pressure, heart or cholesterol.
  • You have a medical condition, such as a heart, liver, kidney, prostate or hormone-related problem, or you are being treated for one.
  • You have surgery planned in the coming weeks.

Persistent tiredness, low mood and sexual difficulties can have many causes, some of them treatable. A GP can look into them. A supplement cannot tell you what is going on.

Check your total zinc and niacin

Musqle On pack of 60 capsules

The seller lists 22 mg of zinc, against a UK reference value of 10 mg. UK and EU advisers treat about 25 mg a day from supplements as the upper level, and intakes above that over a long period can interfere with copper absorption. Look at the label of any multivitamin or other zinc product you take, and add the figures up before you add this one.

The seller lists 40 mg of niacin, against a reference value of 16 mg. Nicotinic acid can cause skin flushing, with warmth, redness and tingling of the face and neck, and the seller does not say which form of niacin is used. Ask a pharmacist first if you have liver disease, gout or stomach ulcers, or take cholesterol medicine.

Stomach comfort

L-carnitine and citrulline can cause nausea, cramps or loose stools in some people, more often on an empty stomach or with too little water. The seller's directions call for two large glasses of water and a time shortly before your largest main meal. If the capsules disagree with you, stop and speak to a pharmacist instead of changing the amount yourself.

The seller says the capsules can be opened and stirred into water. If you do that, follow your pack's instructions, and be aware that it may change the taste.

Plant extracts and your medicines

Pine bark extract, maca, grape skin extract and saffron are plant extracts. We are not aware of authorised health claims for them, and each comes with general cautions. Pine bark and grape skin extracts may affect blood clotting or blood sugar in some people, which matters if you take blood thinners or diabetes medicine. The saffron amount, 10 mg, is small, but allergic reactions can occur in people sensitive to related plants.

If you are allergic to any ingredient, do not take the product. Because the seller's pages list different formulas, compare your pack's label with the table in our ingredients guide before the first dose.

When to stop and get help

Stop taking Musqle On and seek medical advice if you notice a rash, swelling, trouble breathing, chest pain, a racing or irregular heartbeat, severe stomach pain, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or anything else that worries you. In an emergency, call 999. You can also report a suspected problem with a supplement to your local trading standards or the Food Standards Agency.

Keep the pack away from children, store it as the label directs and do not go beyond the stated amount. Return to the main guide for the overview.

Frequently asked questions

Who should check with a professional first?

Under-18s, anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, and anyone with a medical condition or on medication should ask a GP or pharmacist before ordering.

What side effects are possible?

Stomach upset can occur with the amino acids listed, and niacin can cause skin flushing. Stop and seek advice if you feel unwell.

Can I combine it with other supplements?

Be careful with other zinc or niacin products and with multivitamins, because the amounts add up. Ask a pharmacist.

Can it stand in for a doctor's visit?

No. If you are worried about tiredness, low mood or sexual difficulties, see a GP rather than relying on a supplement.
